Wyoming bat removal FAQ
Answers to the most common questions about bat removal, bat-proofing, and guano cleanup in Wyoming.
When is the right time to remove bats in Wyoming?
Spring (March through May) and late summer through fall (August 15 through October) are the two ideal exclusion windows in Wyoming. We do not perform exclusions during the maternity season, roughly June through mid-August, when flightless pups are present inside the roost. Sealing exits during that window traps juveniles inside, which is both inhumane and illegal.
Are bats protected in Wyoming?
Yes. All Wyoming bat species are protected under Wyoming Game and Fish regulations. Several species are also protected under federal law. It is illegal to kill, harm, trap, or poison bats without proper authorization. Humane one-way exclusion is the only legal removal method.
What bat species are common in Wyoming buildings?
The big brown bat and little brown bat are the most common building-dwelling bats in Wyoming. Both form large maternity colonies in attics, soffits, and outbuildings. See our bat species page for the full list of Wyoming bat species.
How does one-way bat exclusion work?
We install custom one-way devices at every entry point on the structure. Bats exit through the devices naturally at dusk but cannot return. The colony vacates within 5 to 10 days under normal conditions. We then remove the devices and permanently seal every opening.
How long does the full bat removal process take?
From installation of exclusion devices to final sealing, the process typically takes one to two weeks. Larger colonies or more complex structures may take a bit longer. We give you a realistic timeline during the estimate call.
What is bat guano and why is it dangerous?
Bat guano is bat droppings. It accumulates rapidly in attics and wall voids where bats roost. Guano can harbor Histoplasma capsulatum, a fungal pathogen that causes histoplasmosis when spores are disturbed and inhaled. Never disturb guano accumulation without proper PPE. Call us for a professional cleanup.
How much does bat removal cost in Wyoming?
Pricing depends on the building structure, the number of entry points, and the size of the colony. Call (307) 522-1433 and we will give you a specific answer based on your situation.
Can I do bat removal myself?
Wyoming law requires humane exclusion methods during specific seasonal windows. DIY exclusion without proper knowledge of bat behavior, seasonal timing, and Wyoming regulations frequently results in bats trapped inside (causing die-off and odor), failed seals with re-entry, or a legal violation. We recommend calling a specialist.
Do you offer a warranty?
Yes. Every exclusion job includes a written warranty. If bats re-enter through any opening we sealed, we return and resolve it at no charge.
Do you serve rural Wyoming?
