How a attic restoration job runs

What to expect

After a bat colony is removed and the guano cleaned up, many attics need structural restoration before they are fully livable again. We remove and replace contaminated insulation, treat stained wood and surfaces, repair any structural damage caused by years of bat activity, and seal the attic against future intrusion. The goal is a clean, properly insulated, odor-free attic that is bat-proofed for the long term. We handle the full scope so you do not need to coordinate multiple contractors.

FAQ

Common questions about attic restoration

Do I need attic restoration after bat removal?

It depends on how long the colony was present and how large it was. A one-season colony may need only guano cleanup. A multi-year colony in a large attic typically requires full insulation replacement and surface treatment to address health risks and persistent odor.

Can I just clean the guano myself and re-insulate?

Disturbing guano without proper PPE and HEPA equipment creates a serious Histoplasma inhalation risk. Professional cleanup should always precede any attic restoration work.

How long does attic restoration take?

Scope depends on the size of the attic and the extent of contamination. We give you a straight answer during our initial assessment. Most jobs complete in one to two days.

Does the restoration work come with a warranty?

Yes. The bat-proofing seal included in every restoration job carries our standard written warranty. If bats re-enter through any point we sealed, we return at no charge.
