Bat Colony Removal in Cheyenne

We install custom one-way exclusion devices at every entry point on the structure. Bats exit naturally but cannot return. The colony vacates in 5 to 10 days depending on size and season. After the colony has left, we remove the devices and seal every opening permanently. No trapping, no poison, no harm to the bats. Every exclusion complies with Wyoming Game and Fish regulations and federal bat protection law.

Wyoming Wildlife Specialists serves homeowners and businesses in Cheyenne, Laramie County, and across all of Wyoming. Call (307) 522-1433 to schedule a phone consultation. Wyoming Game and Fish regulations and federal bat protection law govern every removal we perform.

About Cheyenne and the Southeast Wyoming

Cheyenne is the capital and largest city of Wyoming, the seat of Laramie County, and sits at 6,063 feet elevation on the high plains where the Laramie Range meets the eastern slope of the Rockies. The city's older residential neighborhoods, Victorian-era commercial blocks, and state government buildings provide abundant attic and wall-void space. Cold plains winters push big brown bats and little brown bats to seek warm structural roosts earlier in autumn than in lower-elevation states.

Big brown bats are the most commonly encountered building bat in Cheyenne, tolerating the high-plains cold well and often establishing maternity colonies in older homes and commercial buildings. Little brown bats also roost in the city, particularly in attic spaces close to Crow Creek and Dry Creek corridors.

What is included

  • Full property inspection. We inspect the full structure to locate every entry point before any work begins. No guesswork, no missed openings.
  • Custom one-way devices. Each exclusion device is custom-fitted to the specific opening. Bats exit naturally but cannot re-enter.
  • 5 to 10 day vacate window. Once devices are installed, the colony clears the building within 5 to 10 days under normal conditions.
  • Written warranty. If bats re-enter through any point we sealed, we return at no charge. Every exclusion is warranted.

Common questions

Why can't I just seal the bats in or use poison?

Sealing bats inside is illegal under Wyoming and federal law. Poison is prohibited for bats entirely. Humane one-way exclusion is the only legal method and the only method that works permanently.

When is the best time to do bat removal in Wyoming?

Spring (March through May) and late summer through fall (August 15 through October) are the two ideal windows in Wyoming. We do not do exclusions during the maternity season when flightless pups are present, roughly June through mid-August, because sealing exits during that period traps juveniles inside.

How long does the process take?

After devices are installed, the colony clears in 5 to 10 days. We then return to remove devices and permanently seal every opening. Total project time is typically one to two weeks depending on colony size and weather.
